Amazon Bee Frontier review: this $75 AI wearable listens to your conversations and turns them into summaries, to-dos, and reminders, and it is the best-value memory wearable we have seen so far. Our one-line verdict: the hardware is a genuine bargain, but Amazon really wants you on the $11.99 per month Bee Pro plan.

The Bee Frontier is the first new Bee hardware since Amazon acquired the startup in July 2025, replacing the discontinued $50 Bee Pioneer. A sibling device, the $99.99 Bee Eclipse magnetic phone attachment, goes on sale soon. This review covers the Frontier, the one you can buy today.

Design

No screen, no speaker, almost nothing to learn: a small oval unit with one action button and a tiny LED, worn in a soft silicone band or clipped to a shirt, in Lavender, Sage, or Onyx. It is smaller and lighter than the Pioneer, and adds the IP67 rating its predecessor lacked.

One button runs everything: press once to start or stop a session (green LED on), long press for a voice note, double press to bookmark. The mics can auto-switch off after a silence window of 5 minutes to 24 hours.

Features and AI

Sessions feed Bee's software through dual noise-filtering microphones, returning summaries, to-dos, insights, and reminders in the app, with templates for lectures, brainstorms, and care plans. It personalizes over time: the more you wear it, the more useful it gets.

Bee Pro adds Gmail, Calendar, and Outlook integrations (drafting follow-ups and invites), HealthKit and Photos links, hands-free Alexa+ summaries, and Amazon.com shopping recommendations. The free tier keeps summaries, recaps, and 14 days of memory.

Privacy runs through Bee Private Compute: audio is processed in real time and deleted, never stored; transcripts are encrypted with keys only your device creates and controls. The honest caveat is the people around you: one small LED is the only signal they get that a conversation is being captured.

Battery and Everyday Use

The Frontier is rated for up to seven days (160 hours) per charge over USB-C. No screen and a silence auto-off keep the drain low: put it on Monday, forget it until the weekend. The iOS and Android apps handle daily review; the desktop app needs Bee Pro.

Price and Availability

The Bee Frontier is $74.99, available now on Amazon.com in Onyx, Lavender, and Sage. It undercuts rivals like the $159 Plaud Note (per TechCrunch): impulse-buy hardware, sell the subscription later. The Bee Eclipse starts at $99.99 but has no ship date yet. Only US pricing is announced.

Verdict

The Frontier nails the two things that matter: it is cheap enough to try on a whim, and a week of battery means it can live on your wrist. The privacy design is thoughtful and the free tier is generous. The catch: two years of Bee Pro costs over four times the device, and much of the advertised magic sits behind it. Buy it for the hardware and the free memory loop; subscribe only if the integrations earn their keep.

Pros

  • $74.99 undercuts rivals like the $159 Plaud Note
  • Up to 7 days of battery with USB-C charging
  • IP67 dust and water resistance, new for this generation

  • Free tier includes summaries, recaps, and 14-day memory

  • Recording conversations raises consent questions for people around you
  • The Bee Eclipse phone attachment is not on sale yet
