Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma spent Sunday evening, October 25, 2026, singing along at a live kirtan by American devotional singer Krishna Das in Mumbai, and videos of the couple immersed in the chants quickly went viral on social media.
The evening was one of the stops on Krishna Das's Home in the Heart India Tour. The Mumbai concert was held at the Dome, SVP Stadium, in Worli, where Krishna Das performed devotional chants alongside his musicians, with the couple seated in the front row of the audience.
What the viral videos show
In the clips circulating online, Anushka and Virat sit side by side, swaying gently to the music and joining in the devotional singing. Anushka, wearing a dark pink outfit, is seen clapping along and chanting, including the chants "Radhe Radhe" and "Hare Ram," while Virat, in a black T-shirt and white trousers, quietly takes in the music, at times with his eyes closed, apparently meditating.
One clip shows the couple briefly glancing toward the camera before turning their attention back to the performance. Other footage shows them arriving at the Gateway of India before heading to the event, and another video shows Anushka meeting Krishna Das after the kirtan and bidding him goodbye. Fans sharing the clips praised the couple's calm, absorbed presence, with many calling the moment a glimpse of their spiritual side away from cricket and cinema.
A familiar spiritual outing for the couple
For followers of the couple, the Mumbai evening was not a first. They attended a Krishna Das service at Union Chapel in London in July 2026, and Gulf News also notes that they were filmed in the front row at a Krishna Das kirtan in Mumbai in October 2024, during the home Test series against New Zealand.
Their spiritual life has long been fairly public. Anushka and Virat are known followers of Neem Karoli Baba's teachings and also visit spiritual leader Premanand Maharaj in Vrindavan. That connection runs through Krishna Das himself: born Jeffrey Kagel in New York, he travelled to India in 1970 and became a disciple of Neem Karoli Baba, spending several years at the guru's ashrams, including Kainchi Dham in the Kumaon hills of Uttarakhand, before becoming one of the best-known kirtan singers in the West, blending traditional Indian chants with Western musical influences.
Krishna Das's India tour continues
The Home in the Heart tour is a five-city run across October and November. After opening on October 23 at Brahmkamal Hall in New Delhi, and the Mumbai shows, Krishna Das is due to perform in Pune on October 30, Ahmedabad on November 1, and Bengaluru on November 4, according to The Economic Times.
The couple, who married in 2017 and are parents to daughter Vamika, born in 2021, and son Akaay, born in 2024, have largely kept their personal lives away from the public eye in recent years and spend much of their time in London. Anushka has not had a lead film role since 2018's Zero, apart from a cameo in Qala, and her planned comeback film, the Jhulan Goswami biopic Chakda 'Xpress, is still awaiting a release date.

The takeaway is simple: far from the stadium roar and the film set, the couple's quiet Sunday at a Mumbai kirtan struck a chord because it felt genuine. Seated together, singing along and lost in the music, Virat and Anushka reminded fans why their rare public appearances still travel so far, so fast.
