ESL Pro League Season 24 begins today in Katowice, Poland, bringing 16 of the world's best Counter-Strike 2 teams together for a $1 million showdown that runs from October 3 to October 11. For the first time in the league's history, the playoffs will be played in front of a live crowd at the iconic Spodek Arena, making this nine-day event one of the biggest CS2 tournaments of 2026.

ESL Pro League Season 24 schedule and format

The competition runs in two stages. The group stage (October 3–7) sees all 16 teams battle in a Swiss-system format, where three series wins secure a playoff spot and three losses mean elimination. Every group-stage match is a best-of-three series, and the top eight teams advance.

The playoffs (October 9–11) shift to a single-elimination bracket at the Spodek Arena. Quarterfinals, semifinals, and the third-place decider are all best-of-three, while the grand final on October 11 is a best-of-five. This is the first ESL Pro League to carry a $1,000,000 prize pool — $300,000 in direct player winnings plus $700,000 in club rewards, with the champions banking $295,000.

All 16 teams competing in Katowice

Twelve teams earned direct invitations through the August Valve Regional Standings, while four qualified through regional ESL Challenger League Season 51 events:

  • VRS invites: Team Spirit, Team Falcons, MOUZ, 9z, Team Vitality, Natus Vincere, Legacy, FURIA, BetBoom Team, Aurora Gaming, G2 Esports, PARIVISION
  • Challenger qualifiers: 1WIN, M80, ShindeN, TYLOO

Storylines to watch at Season 24

Team Spirit enter as the team to beat after winning the Esports World Cup 2026, while Team Falcons — triumphant at the Cologne Major — are chasing another title and Team Vitality return in form off their StarSeries Season 20 victory. The trio's battle for supremacy is the tournament's headline storyline.

Natus Vincere arrive with everything on the line: the defending Season 23 champions have slid down the rankings and now risk missing the PGL Major Singapore 2026 if they slip up in Katowice. Every series is a points race for NAVI.

Victory also carries weight beyond the prize money — points toward ESL Grand Slam VII, where Falcons and NAVI already hold one point each while Spirit and Vitality remain on zero.

Prize money and where to watch

The $1 million is split with champions receiving $125,000 in player prize money plus a $170,000 club reward. Fans can watch every match live on ESL's official channels: the ESL Counter-Strike YouTube streams, ESLCS and ESLCSb on Twitch, and ESLCS on Kick.

The takeaway

With $1 million on the line, a stacked 16-team field, a live crowd at the Spodek for the first time, and Major qualification implications for the defending champions, ESL Pro League Season 24 is set to be a defining CS2 tournament of the year — and it starts today.
