Drishyam: The Conclusion, Ajay Devgn's mystery-thriller finale released October 2, 2026, has crossed $31 million in worldwide gross in just four days — making it the biggest opener of the actor's career and one of the fastest Indian films ever to cross the milestone.
The Record-Breaking Opening Run
Directed by Abhishek Pathak, the film opened with $6.4 million on Friday, followed by $5.6 million on Saturday and a near-identical $6.3 million on Sunday — delivering the biggest opening day and opening weekend of Ajay Devgn's career, per trade tracker Sacnilk. The three-day haul of $18.3 million in India net made it the second-highest opening weekend of 2026 among Hindi films, behind only Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar: The Revenge.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh noted that the Friday number got a boost from the Gandhi Jayanti national holiday — but "Sunday being on par with Friday is the real highlight, a clear indication of strong audience acceptance and excellent word of mouth."
The First Monday Dip
Monday brought the first real test: the film collected $2.2 million on Day 4, a 65.6 percent drop from Sunday, from 16,274 shows at 24.7 percent Hindi occupancy. That pushed the India net total to about $20.5 million and the India gross to $24.6 million, with overseas adding $6.8 million for the $31.4 million worldwide figure.
The drop is steep but expected for a holiday-boosted opener — and the film is already well past its reported $11.4 million production budget. Footfalls have crossed 7.88 million in four days, and advance sales for Tuesday were already topping $950,000 by Tuesday afternoon.
What It Means for the Franchise
Ajay Devgn returns as Vijay Salgaonkar, the cable operator whose elaborate cover-up of a crime anchors the franchise, alongside Tabu, Shriya Saran, Rajat Kapoor and Ishita Dutta — with Jaideep Ahlawat and Prakash Raj joining the cast for the final chapter. The Hindi finale has already surpassed the entire lifetime worldwide gross of the Malayalam original (Mohanlal's 2026 Drishyam 3, which ended its run at about $24.7 million).
