Ticket demand for the Men's Cricket World Cup 2027 has shattered records within days of the ballot opening. Organisers said on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, that applications for more than 1.1 million tickets were submitted during the opening weekend of ballot registrations — with more than 320,000 fans registering for the ballot, which remains open until 23:59 CAT on November 21, 2026.
India–Pakistan fixture leads the frenzy
The India-Pakistan match generated the strongest demand of all, with more than 110,000 ticket applications submitted for that single fixture. South Africa's game against India drew more than 92,000 applications, while more than 86,000 fans applied for tickets to India vs Australia.
ICC CEO Sanjog Gupta hailed the response: "One million ticket applications in just over 48 hours of opening the ticket ballot is a demonstration of the attention, stature and affiliation for ICC Cricket World Cup 2027."
ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2027 Local Organising Committee CEO Qondisa Ngwenya said the early response "is a major statement by global fans and shows the extraordinary appetite to be part of this tournament," adding that South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia are ready to open their doors to the world.
How the ballot works — and what tickets cost
The ballot is free to enter, and fans can apply for multiple matches. Where demand exceeds stadium capacity, a randomised draw will decide the allocations. Supporters can register at tickets.cricketworldcup.com.
Ticket prices range from USD $9.62 (R158) for entry-level tickets to USD $31.31 (R514) for the highest-tier matches. Organisers have also introduced family bundles, student and pensioner pricing, early-bird local allocations, and community club and school group pricing.
Three Nations, One Heartbeat
The 14th edition of the tournament will be co-hosted by South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia — the first men's ICC marquee event on the African continent in two decades. The tournament runs from October 2 to November 21, 2027, featuring 14 teams and 57 matches across 12 venues under the slogan "Three Nations, One Heartbeat."
The fixture schedule was unveiled on October 1, 2026, at the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa in Cape Town, where independent board chair Trevor Manuel challenged the hosts to welcome supporters "in their multitudes."
Ten teams have already secured direct qualification: hosts South Africa and Zimbabwe, plus India, Australia, Pakistan, New Zealand, England, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and Bangladesh. The remaining four spots will be decided through qualifiers in early 2027.
